Automation flow

How Pharmacy Automation Works

From the moment a prescription arrives to the moment it reaches the patient, this is the stretch Medi Node equipment covers.

  1. Prescription created

Prescription data is sent to the equipment

  2. Pill identification

A deep learning model identifies the medication

  3. Counting · Crushing

The equipment dispenses to the prescription

  4. Packaging

    Packaged automatically, pouch by pouch

  5. Vision verification

    Cameras check the result

Core capabilities

Four Core Capabilities

We build deep learning and machine vision directly into our equipment, covering every step of pharmacy automation with technology of our own.

  • Deep Learning

A model trained on the shape, imprint, and color of pills identifies the medication to dispense. This is where automation begins, with the equipment judging for itself.

  • Automation Equipment

Acting on that identification, the equipment counts, crushes, and packages. Configurations differ with the size of the pharmacy and the type of dispensing.

  • Machine Vision

Cameras verify what has been dispensed and filter out errors. A safeguard that lightens the burden of checking by hand.

  • Hospital · Pharmacy Network

Years of supplying and servicing advanced automation equipment for tertiary hospital pharmacies carry over into how we design equipment for small and mid-sized pharmacies.
